Beginning from September 2000 Sergey Balchenko is a Managing Partner / Director for audit and assurance services with BDO Balance-Audit. Before coming to BDO Balance-Audit, he had been working at the largest international audit company in the world of the US origin. Sergey is one of the first representatives of a new-born profession in the Former Soviet Union — independent auditor, having more than 15-years continuous experience of work as an independent auditor.
Possessing comprehensive knowledge of the audit and accounting profession, together with universal professional skills, he carried out audit of companies operating in different areas of economy of Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, Byelorussia and Moldova both in accordance with national and international standards. Many successful Ukrainian enterprises and banks, that reached international level of business, management and internal control have achieved that owing to joint cooperation with Mr. Balchenko and his team. Having been working in the Audit Chamber of Ukraine of first convocation, Mr. Balchenko made a great input into development of the national audit, having developed National Audit Norms, for the fist time in Ukraine having taken International Standards on Auditing (ISA) and Professional Audit Code of Ethics as a basis for such, which stimulated complete application of ISA in Ukraine.
Mr. Balchenko is an adherent of full application in Ukraine of ISA and International Financial Reporting Standards.
